SERIOUS FUN:
We will do our best to mix serious learning with fun and creativity. My philosophy is that people learn when they are enjoying what they are doing, like the environment in which they’re learning, and understand the importance of what they’re learning. We will do our best to ensure that these aspects of learning are evident in this classroom. However, YOU have an extremely important role in making our class a positive and fun place to learn.
EXPECTATIONS:
Throughout history there have been many revolutions and rebellions because were living under a set of rules, which were oppressive and unrealistic. In these revolutions, the leaders of the oppressive regime were hunted down and destroyed. We don’t want educational revolutions in our room, so in order to keep the peace, we have only a few specific rules and some general ones that will ensure the positive atmosphere of our room and make it a great place for us to be.
RULE NUMBER ONE: YOU WILL BE RESPECTFUL OF OTHER PEOPLE’S RIGHTS, RELIGION, PROPERTY, CULTURE, THOUGHTS, OPINIONS, HAIR COLOR, HEIGHT, WEIGHT, NUMBER OF PIERCINGS, FEELINGS, RACE, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, GENDER, AND MUSICAL TASTES.
HOMEWORK: Homework is expected to be completed when you walk through the door. If it is not complete, you will be required to complete a bonus assignment. This bonus assignment is a take-home graded assessment and needs to be turned in at the beginning of the following class. If the bonus assignment is not completed, you will receive a one.
ABSENCES: Only an excused absence may be made up. You are responsible for making up work you missed. See me and we will find a time to catch up. Unexcused absences are not eligible for make up work; class is important make sure you come.
